Philip Ryken

Educated at Wheaton College, Westminster Theological Seminary, and the University of Oxford, Philip Ryken is the president of Wheaton College. He is the author or editor of more than 30 books, including Art for God's Sake: A Call to Recover the Arts and expository commentaries on Exodus, Jeremiah, Luke, and other books of the Bible. When he is not preaching or teaching, Phil likes to play basketball and ponder the relationship between Christianity and American culture.

Do you think about why the word of God has power? The pages of scripture reflect the personality and experiences of each of the authors. And the endurance of the Bible attests to remarkable, at times miraculous, preservation. But while Satan works to prevent the production, translation, and proclamation of God’s Word, he completely and utterly fails. That’s because the ultimate author is the Holy Spirit.
